Like Pie, he clearly understands much of what I tell him and always greets me with a whinny. He opens and closes his gate on command and always comes when I call – loving a Horse is a wonderful opportunity.

I have seen all the westerns listed as examples of those in which Pie appeared with Jimmy Stewart but I am now encouraged to look at them again and watch out for Pie.

I believe he was a sorrel stallion that was a mix of Arabian and Quarter Horse breeds.

What else can you tell us about your Aunt Stevie and her dad and their involvement in the movie horse industry? She was my 2nd cousin.

Pie was my aunts horse, Stevie Myers. He was stabled at the Myers and Wills stables in Lake View Terrace by Hanson Dam in the San Fernando Valley, California. Aunt Stevie trained many horses for the film industry as well as taught many how to ride a horse. Aunt Stevie and her partner, Joan, supplied much of the live stock you would see during the 60’s and 70’s TV and movies. Prior to Aunt Stevie and Joan, the business was my grandfather’s, George Myers.

I know that Yul Brynner rode Pie in The Magnificent Seven.
