The top line Buick got a mild face lift from 1959
the delta wing although still prominent was a little less drastic
the Electra 225 model was named because that was it’s length, 225 inches

1961 Buick LeSabre Convertible
A complete redesign added this bullet nose
gone were the sideways wings, staying were the side vents
the least expensive but best selling ragtop was this LeSabre
1962 Buick Special
The Special was Buick’s answer to the compact car demand
it was available in two or four door and a wagon
it got a special V-6 that was made just for it
1963 Buick Riviera
Did you think that Buick’s were stodgy?
Well just take a look at this all new Riviera
hailed as stunning and remarkable the 1963 launched Buick
into a new era in the personal luxury car market
Riviera was Buick’s answer to Ford’s Thunderbird
1964 Buick Special Skylark
The Special grows up into a mid-size car
in later years the Special would be dropped in favor of just Skylark
11 inches longer and sitting on a new frame
the Skylark was now competition to Pontiac’s LeMans
1965 Buick Riviera
Riviera got a facelift this year
concealing it’s headlights behind retractable clamshell covers
and embedding the tail lights into the rear bumper
a sport package was available with a bigger engine and different trim

1966 Buick Riviera
Gone was the style leader that changed Buick’s image
replaced with a facsimile of Oldsmobile’s Toronado
minor differences weren’t obvious except Buick stuck with rear wheel drive
and Toronado was front wheel driven
1967 Buick LeSabre
Considered entry level for Buick
the LaSabre was still nicely equipped with power windows and seats
the Classic series (shown) got upgraded interior and wheels
1968 Buick Riviera
The hidden head lights are back by popular demand
with a bigger 360hp engine sales increased
Buick lacked a muscle car so they opted for this luxury muscle-ish car
1969 Buick Electra 225
Full sized cars were always Buick’s mainstay
and the Electra series was the matriarch of the family
the Custom Limited four door hardtop (shown)
came with a vinyl roof, special trim, all power options and custom interior
