Lone Ranger Tidbits

Who was that masked man? John Reid was a Texas Ranger who was injured in an ambush by the Butch Cavendish Hole in the Wall Gang. He was nursed back to health by Tonto, who had been a childhood friend and would remain the Lone Ranger's constant companion.

The Lone Ranger got his money from a secret silver mine he owned. It was run by Jim Blaine (Ralph Littlefield).The mine was also the source of his trademark, silver bullets.

Most people do not know that for 26 episodes between 1951-1953, John Hart played the Lone Ranger.

And I bet you didnt know this. The Lone Ranger was created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker who also created the Green Hornet. So the Lone Ranger's nephew Dan (Chuck Courtney) was the father of Britt Reid, the Green Hornet.

Passings

Clayton Moore died in 1999 of a heart attack and Jay Silverheels in 1980 of a stroke.
