Adventures of Jim Bowie Tidbits
The real life adventurer gave his name to the knife he supposedly invented after his regular one broke in a fight with a grizzly. However, critics complained about the excessive violence and knife use on the show was toned down.
Set in the Louisiana Territory of the 1830s, Bowie was a rich planter who ran across many interesting characters, all set against the backdrop of New Orleans. This is the period in Bowie’s life before he left for Texas and was killed at the Alamo.
